Library Interior
Access to the book stacks was controlled, and books had to be paged through staff, most of what Oberlin College students saw of the new Carnegie Library was the main foyer, with the porter's cupboard directly opposite the entrance, and the main reading room with the familiar statue of the "reading girl." This room provided seating for about 250 patrons. The building also included an auditorium/faculty room for meetings.
