Staff and the Next Generation Library

Through the Next Generation Library project, Ohio Five staff have been able to support students and faculty in creating digital projects while increasing their own expertise and helping realizing the Next Generation Library vision.  Training and increased sharing of ideas and knowledge has helped library staff use digital tools to create projects and collections that benefit the students they support.  In addition, the Next Generation Library project has helped educate staff about the coming challenges facing librarians and increased their openness to change in both their daily workflows and the roles they see themselves, and the library, playing in the liberal arts college.  In the last eighteen months library staff have assisted in over thirty digital projects.  Though the grant support for projects will soon end, the training and exposure has given library staff members the knowledge and ambition to continue creating digital collections and developing the Next Generation Library.
