Seminar Rooms
The seminar rooms on the upper floors of the building were another major feature of the library building.
In addition to furniture, each seminar room also held a departmental library. Here we see the English Seminar room, also called the "Wager Room" after Charles Wager who taught English at Oberlin College from 1900 to 1939.
The mathematics seminar room. Some departments maintained their own library outside of Carnegie, such as that in the Graduate School of Theology, some science laboratories, and the library that supported the work of the Allen Arts Museum.
The Miller Room for rare books. Named for R. T. Miller, Jr. Oberlin Class of 1891 who provided the handsome furnishings for the room.
The Classics Seminar Room. Most of these seminar rooms are today occupied by the Oberlin College Department of Geology.
The German Seminar Room. These rooms provided some quiet study space when not being used by classes.
