Workshops

Workshops were offered as needed for Five Colleges of Ohio Staff.  Training topics were selected based on current need and focused on specific section of library staff.

Trainings offered or upcoming include

• An introduction to Metadata, Dublin Core, and Dspace (ppt download)
• DSpace administrators training
• DSpace curators training
• Advanced digital image creation

Technical services staff from The Five Colleges share their local practices and answer questions as part of a peer panel session.

Peer Panel Sessions

Not all training needs are best met by having an expert present to a group.  To encourage local sharing of knowledge, panel sessions were offered where local staff could learn from their coworkers.  Topics offered as panels include learning about new library gadgets, understanding changes coming to technical services, learning about new tools, and may more.

Tutorials

When in person training is not needed processes could be caputred in the form of a tutorial to be shared with staff.  Tutorials cover everything from basic image conversion to complicated XSL transformations.
